The 2002 AMG Mercedes CLK-DTM was enhanced within the strict limits laid down in the championship’s regulations. It had a completely new body and space frame and was more aerodynamically efficient. The kinematics of the redesigned suspension were optimised for the new Dunlop tyres, which are taller and wider than the previous ones. Enhancements were also made to various details of the four-litre eight-cylinder engine.
