The HAMANN has developed the M3's inline-6 to produce about 380 hp is in the final stage of development. Also available is the HAMANN V/Max release, which eliminates the M3's standard 250 km/h speed limit. This makes the sport coupe is 181 mph fast. To further optimize the performance of the six-cylinder four-valve engine there is recommended the installation of the HAMANN sport exhaust system with four angled chromed exhaust tips. Of course this muffler also produces a more earthy sound. The HAMANN SPORT SHIFT gearshift travel shortage provides an even quicker and even more precise operation of the six-speed manual gearbox.
To further improve driving stability of the BMW M3 at high speeds, the HAMANN designers developed bodystyling components which don"t only give the two-door car a more spectacular look: HAMANN alternatively provides two spoiler edges left and right or the one-piece HAMANN COMPETITION front spoiler. Both aerodynamics parts are designed to fit on the standard bumper and reduce the lift on the front axle at high speed. In addition, the face of the M3 can be made even more striking by fitting HAMANN headlight covers and HAMANN fog light covers with ellipsoid lights. The sides of the coupe can be upgraded with HAMANN side skirts. To produce downforce at the rear axle, HAMANN provides a roof spoiler and three different rear spoilers. This combination increases downforce on the rear axle what optimizes driving safety at high speed. HAMANN also provides a custom-made diffuser for the standard bumper of the new M3. HAMANN MOTORSPORT also provides a wide range of custom-made, one-piece or split-rim 18- and 19-inch light alloy wheels for the new M3. Maximum combination for the coupe are three-piece HAMANN PG3 wheels of the dimensions 8.5Jx19 front and 10Jx19 on the rear axle. After extensive test drives HAMANN chose ContiSportContact II high performance tires of the sizes 245/35 ZR 19 on the front axle and 275/30 ZR 19 rear for these wheels.
To further optimize the coupe's sporty handling HAMANN offers specially set-up suspension components. To lower the M3 by about 40 millimeters on the front axle and by about 20 millimeters rear there are available progressive-rate HAMANN springs which are set-up for the use with the stock dampers. To tune the BMW stiffer there is offered the HAMANN spring strut suspension which is height adjustable at front and rear axle. In addition the chassis can be further enhanced with HAMANN sport anti-roll bars front and rear and with an adjustable HAMANN aluminium front strut brace.
For the M3 cockpit HAMANN provides sporty accessories like gearshift lever knobs in different materials and designs, aluminium-made pedals for cars both with SMG or manual gearbox, a hand-brake control grip made from aluminium or exclusive floor mats with HAMANN logo. Exclusive customer desires can be granted with individual HAMANN full leather trims in all colors. In addition, HAMANN also manufactures lightweight interiors with racing seats for the new M3.
