Edo Competition is known for its extreme variants of exotic car, and they have applied their magic touch to the Maserati MC12 supercar. Wanting to create a car for the MC12 like the FXX is to the Enzo, Edo Competition has developed the MC12 XX, an 800-horsepower, 242 mph supercar with extensive modifications to the entire vehicle. The enhancements start with an increase in engine displacement to 6.3-liters, and the car receives upgraded pistons, camshafts, and titanium valve springs and connecting rods. On the exhaust side, the engine receives a new exhaust manifold and a stainless steel sport catalytic converter that features a switch to allow varying levels of sound. Other performance upgrades include a ram air intake system with a new air filter, a fuel cooling system, new clutch, upgraded oil pump, and new gaskets.
The brakes and suspension has been upgraded well. A ceramic brake system is on all four corners, with 396mm rotors up front and 360mm rotors in the rear. Special brake pads have also been fitted. The suspension is more race-like with independently adjustable damping technology like the MC12 race car that races in the FIA GT.
The additional performance and handling are also helped with a weight reduction of 100 kg.
New racing wheels replace the stock set, 10x19 front and 13x20 rear, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Those that purchase the MC12 XX kit from Edo Competition will also receive one day of full testing with an instructor with data recording, as well as transport and hospitality at the track.
