This sale is for a Rare, Vintage and highly collectible1996 Nissan \"Dream Garage\" Poster.
Nissan North America launched its \"Life is a Journey - Enjoy the Ride\" advertising campaign with a two minute televisioncommercial at the 1996 Super Bowl. The spot featured a \"Dream Garage\"filled with vintage Nissan vehicles and a mystical Japanese character looselybased on Nissan Motor CorporationU.S.A.founder YutakaKatayama. The Dream Garage featured a number of Datsun Roadsters most notably asilver 1967 Datsun Roadster 2000 which was featured prominently in the printcampaign. Here is the commercial:
The condition of my \"Dream Garage\" poster is excellent. It presents welland is suitable for framing. This poster is almost 20 years old. It has beenhanging in my dark enclosed garage since I got it from the Nissan Dealership. Therefore, its colors are still bright and vivid. Two tiny 1/16 inch edge tears have beencarefully repaired/reinforced from the back using acid free archival tape. Theyareunnoticeable from the front. Each corner has 1 to 3 tack pin holes. Size is 24inches x 30 inches. I’m going to let my pictures speak for themselves. What yousee is what you get.
In 1996, this poster hung in the parts department at Brown &Brown Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona. At the time, I was spendingthousands of dollars on NOS parts to restore my 1969 Datsun 1600 Roadster. ( Ifyou think I am blowing smoke, I have included a picture of my roadster with theposter up on the wall in front of it.) Once the \"Dream Garage\" adcampaignwasover, they thoughtfully included the poster in with one of my large special orders for parts.
To my knowledge, the original posters that were part of the1996 advertisingcampaign were never available to the generalpublic, which is why they are so scarce.
I have reached the time in my life where a few things needto go. So I\'m going to start with the easy stuff. And if you want the roadsterto go with the poster, that will probably be for sale sometime in the nearfuture.
These Rare posters have all but disappeared and are treasured byNissan/Datsun fans and collectors. You might be able to find a cheap reprint, but dealership posters from the original advertisingcampaignareunobtainium. Better grab this one now before someone beats you to it!
