This was my Father\'s car, he bought new in 1978 and drove it until he passed in 2004. For sentimental reasons we did not want to sell, though we have had many pass by and ask to buy over the years. in the end, letting this unique bus sit untouched is a shame. If you are lucky enough to own a Champagne Edition II (CEII) Bus or Westfalia, which were produced from ONLY1/78 - 4/78you own a unique piece of VW bus history. It had an unusual color scheme and many of the interior parts were Saddle Brown instead of the usual black. It even had racing stripes on the outside! The special interior and the striping on this bus are part of the Champagne Edition II (\'CEII\') package The CEII buses came in a 7-seater microbus. The \'Saddle Brown\' colored parts that were used such as the dashboard unit.

Due to the popularity of the Champagne editions of several 1977 vehicles, Volkswagen repeated the sales campaign in 1978, with these vehicles referred to as Champagne edition II models. Champagne editions of the seven-seat Minibus and the pop-top Campmobile were available in 1978.

The interior of the Champagne edition II Bus had a Beige and Sienna two-tone corduroy interior. It also had a saddle brown dash panel.
The frame on the bus when bought new was undercoating, so the frame right now looks to be solid. My dad always bragged about that. i took some pictures. Feel free to email me for more pictures or info. I dont know much about these vans or what you need to look at. I will say this was my dads everyday driver! I do have to clean the interior still. I didnt touch anything so the pictures are as it sits now. Over the years it was an easy place to throw stuff. I am not mechanical so i will just say what i know.
I dont know if the motor and trans are original. I know the motor was rebuilt somewhere over its lifetime. I dont recall anytransmissionproblems, except a clutch. Assume the motordoesn\'trun. Who knows you may get lucky. The battery iscompletelydead.The slider has issues opening and closing.
